Titan Senior Golfer Clarridge Recaps Florida Trip

The men's golf team just returned from a successful trip in the Sunshine State. The week included numerous hours of work at the wonderful PGA Village Learning Center.

With a 360-degree range, enormous putting greens, and several short game areas, we were able to work on our games in preparation for the tournament at the end of the week.

Another exciting day was endured as the team had a great day of golf and practice at the Fox Club; one of Florida’s most prestigious courses. This day included a visit from recent graduate David Byrne, who is now living in Florida pursuing professional golf.
Following the round, we spent several hours on the range working on our swings with an ex-Detroit Golf Club Head Professional and former PGA Tour professional. He has taught many PGA pros throughout the years and we appreciated him sharing his knowledge one-on-one with our team.

A few more practice days passed until it was tournament time. It was not our best tournament performance as a team, but it was good enough to come home with a ‘W’. The tournament was held on the tough Wannamaker course and what made it even harder was some windy conditions on day one.
All in all, it was a successful week down south to get a jump-start on the spring season with the ultimate goal of defending last year’s Horizon League Championship. Now, we just need some warmer dry weather to get back outside and keep our games in shape for our upcoming tournament at Butler in a few weeks.
