Men’s Lacrosse Building Team Unity

The men’s lacrosse season is just a month away and the Titans will officially begin practicing when school resumes next week, but the fall was spent getting stronger, smarter and to continue to build the skills needed to make a successful Division I lacrosse program.
One thing that is always at the top of the list for a successful season is “Team Unity”.
As the roster has expanded for the third-year program, so is the importance of everybody on the same page and that is what Detroit did in the fall as the red, white and blue had a team taco eating contest as well as an exhibition game against the club hockey team at the University.
The taco festivity took place at Comida in Hamtramck, with the winner taking in over 25 tacos.
The Titans then took to the ice? Yes, ice, as Detroit got together with the University’s club hockey team in downtown Detroit at the City Sports Center.  The Titans, a roster that has a number of athletes who played hockey growing up in Canada or in high school with a few All-State honoress, went in and pulled out a 4-4 tie against UDM.
The season starts in February, but character is already being built for the men’s lacrosse team and where there is character - there is success.
Stay tuned as the Titans 2011 schedule will be released in the near future.
